Please Help, Heating Grid & L.Pump Quits

Please help, I have had a problem for over a year now, the air Heating grid & elactric fuel pump that used to kick on for a little bit before you start the engine, just quit... when I remove batt term. & reset computer then it will work again, maybe for 5 starts, maybe for 50 starts. could it be the Air temp sensor, or ECM, pretty costly to trial & error part. It starts fine in the summer without, but when cold becomes a problem.

if the grids are not working I'd say test and replace grid relays, if required, or if the ECM is not turning them on wire them up so you can manually control them.

does your wait to start light come on??

fuel pump some times you might not hear it as it could cycle for only .5 of a second, other times it runs for up to 20sec if you bump the key.
Do you have a fuel pressure gauge to verify fuel pressure when truck is running?

After Removing Batt cables, everything works fine for a while, Grids heat up. Wait light comes on, lp runs. As most, I have toasted the vp44 with worn out lp, so installes fuel pressure warning sensor. I have considered wiring the grid relays up to push button, but I would like the lp to run also & dont want to do anything that would damage the ECM. You dont think the Air temp sensor could be problem?
