I had a hard start issue also this past summer....no codes ever came up. Ended up having to replace the IP. $1500 later,.....it starts well.

Ok, I have nothing else left that I could think of checking. I am going to swap IPs from one truck to the other before I go spending money on a rebuild Pump.

Be careful when you do this if you have never done one before. It's not hard but that shaft key is a one time shot, don't get it exact and you ruin the pump.

Thats some good advice right there! Seen it done and you thought you had hard starting issues. Don't mess up the keyway.
