gelled fuel

When checking my fuel system Ive been pumping fuel into a container then pouring it back in the tank, I've noticed a bit of gell in the bottam of the container everytime? Its like a clear, thick slime & it wont mix with the fuel. Anyone ever see or hear anything like it?

Might try 2 cycle oil... All snowmobile 2 cycle oil has a pour point depressant (anti-gel package) included. (pour point down to -40*F)...

That slime might be algae. Just to be safe you should treat it with a biocide.

I agree. Good thing you caught it, or it could've gotten expensive, if the damage hasn't been done. Also, have you been going to the same fuel stop to fill up?

I went somewhere different once to fill up, probably where I got it.

You know i did that when i took a 1200 mile trip back home to see the folks and wife(in the military). I stopped some where and when i filled up about 30 miles later down the road i had water in the fuel. stopped and checked it i flushed about 2 gallons of diesel and got a half a gallon of water. Made me mad. Then when i got where i was going i dropped the tank got about 3 gallons if not more out of the tanlk and algae too. I was hot. Cleaned it out and treated the tank to help. Never use loves or that other fuel stop again. Twice in 2 days is to much.
