Fuel/water seperator

Fuel/water seperator
I have fuel coming out of the fuel/water seperator with the key off. I didn't do anything to it, it just started leaking. The other day I parked on very slight incline and set for couple days. Then when I went to start it it wouldn't hardly start/no fuel. So I held the peddle down and got it started and took it to my father in laws. When pulled it in the shop the next day and found it to be leaking diesel fuel from nipple/water fuel seperator. Any suggestions on why.

I have an 01 filter housing on wife's 98.5 truck and it developed a leak. Don't know if yours has the same problem but hers was the drain valve. It was wetting everything around. Bought a new one from Cummins for about $8. Took about 5 minutes to install and it has not leaked another drop. It happened at a good time, a day after returning from a thousand mile trip.
