Uh. Did you try searching? There are many posts on this.
Turn on ignition and listen (better yet, watch your fuel pressure gauge; you have it right?) The LP should run for 2 s. and then stop.
Now, bump the starter but do not start the engine. The LP should run for 25 s and then stop.
In both cases you can hear it run if you open the hood and listen, unless your LP was moved to the fuel tank.
Unfortunately, LP making noise is no indication of it actually pumping fuel and pressure measurement test is required to make sure it works. Do a search on "fuel pressure" and you will find all the info on this that you ever want.

You only neet the IP is you need it. Too expensive to replace "just in case". If the ECM stored no IP-related codes, there is no white smoke or dead pedal, I would not touch the IP. But I would test the LP pressure and replace it if the pressure is low.
A simple practical test is to try to gently open the water drain valve while the truck is idling. If the LP is totally dead, you will get gurgling instead of spray of fuel/water.
