Fuel problem, please help
You could always buy a fass. Not to knock the new in tank pump. The fass has a 4 year warranty, is rebuildable, has awsome filtration, huge flow and separates the AIR from the fuel. Its pretty neato. Built like the CUMMINS.
I had this losing prime problem on mine aways back, left me stranded in Little Rock, AR. Had it towed to a Cummins shop nad they found a bad ground on the fuel pump. When the pump wasn't running it would back-flow through the pump and lose prime. By the way Blue, I'm with you on the high pressure pump, Injector pumps are to expensive to not get as much fuel as possible to them for coolant. Over 80,000mi on this Carter and it's still holdin 12-14 pounds. Oh heck not another Trans Am freak, is there no end to yaall.

Just so you know, Thunder now has a new very special grind, its called a Cheatr cam. You get way more lift & more duration on a wider LSA without having to change your converter or gears. Here's a link for you and your pop to check out.

BTW Its a good idea to go with the whole cam package which also includes stiffer springs hardened push rods and titainium spring retainers, I did.

One of the members on here (I can't remember his name to save my life) had the exact same problem as yours and I think he finally solved it by replacing the return line. You could probably do a search and find out who it was and how he fixed it. If I were you though, I'd save your pennies and replace the whole fuel system. Run 3/8" fuel line from the tank to the injection pump and mount a holley blue on the frame and eliminate the stock fuel pump altogether.
Yup, pretty good bet that one of those crap-connect, I mean quick-connect fittings has failed
.....as it has already been mentioned, you can eliminate those and just use hose clamps.

I know when I bought my injectors from Mark here on this sight at Diesel Performance Parts he said he had them available for my truck and he had my injectors to me the day after I ordered them. If this is the case, think that will be my source. I wouldn't doubt this is a problem, when I was trying to start my truck after the IP and Injector install I had a neighbor insist he was gonna help. He's to nice to just tell him to go away, so while I was cranking the truck to bleed the air he was tightening the lines as the bubbles stopped. He's no small man and I wondered if he was cranking them down to hard, guess this answers the question.

Thanks for the link. Dad's is an MN6 so I won't be swapping converters in it anytime soon.
I agree on the quality of people here vs an LS1 site. I pretty much refuse to go over to them because a lot of them are very arrogant and if your not a big power maker that has dumped all of your money into your car then you just shouldn't be driving an LS1. I love this site. People are a lot better and the information is very plentiful. It's nice not having to flip through 6 pages of personal insults and tuner bashing to get one post of decent information.

btw- sorry for hijacking the thread.
Mopar has fixed the lift pump problem, take advantage of it.

Thanks for the advice too.
. The people on this forum are so much more helpful and nicer than the LS1 community that I'm yoused to.
