Fuel pressure dropping...BFE alaska

Left from Tok this morning and at about 40 miles out toward border my fuel pressure alarm went off on the edge. I was at 3psi!!!! After I had a heart attack, had to decide to turn back or press on. Anyone ever been there knows there really isn't no real help till Haines....400 miles. I am sure there is a mechanic at the junction but who knows how long parts would take. Anyhow, the pressure would go bac up to 10 and drop back to 3. Did this for about 200 miles. I was pulling a 30 ft enclosed trailer, but it really didn seem that it always dropped more whe pulling up hills. After Haines junction, headed on to Haines it started to hit 1 and then zero psi. But would jump back to 10. And yes I did entertain leavin it in the junction. I was scared to death. I did make to to Haines, slowly getting worse and worse. I do have the in tank pump. Could it be the sensor though? Or is this the way those pumps go out? Sorry for the long read.

What a great time to act up!!

This is what my truck usually does too...been there.

Check/change that fuel filter as suggested and see if you can find someone with a test pressure gauge and hook it up to the schrader on the vp and see if the gauges match, then you will know for sure if its the gauge.

Replaced that cheaper with the pressure gauge bolt thingy I think. Might try to do something else to test. On replacing the pump, I have done it by moving bed back, and by dropping tank. Undecided which is easier.

Could your fuel be gelling in the filter?

Pulling the bed is easier if its empty but sounds like your traveling loaded.

it could also be the pickup screen in the tank.

Smart move, never understood why they made it harder to work on.......

Liberty module and your choice of frame mounted pump.
