fuel in oil
fuel in oil
01 2500 noticed a strong fuel smell checked for leaks under hood and found no fuel leaks but oil fuel mix comming out of breather checked the oil and looked like hydralic oil, drained out 5 and a half galons of oil/fuel. the only thing done to the truck is a smarty 134k on truck new vp44 stock pump any ideas?
First thing I'd guess is that someone else put injectors in it. But probably it's got to do with a loose injector hold down, or a bad o-ring on an injector. Loose hold down often also causes a miss as it bleeds cylinder pressure past the fuel return side of the injector.
Either way, your problem is almost certainly with the injector o-rings. Theoretically a cracked head or injector could let fuel sneak out. But not likely. And cross tubes can leak, but not into the oil.

the injectors have never been replaced or touched. everthing looked fine when I pulled the injectors out. there was no sign of stainning around o rings all the o rings look fine. pulled pump and sending it to industrial injection to have it tested, posible front seal is bad.

seal
I just read a post the other day on this same issue. Guy was having his oil check with analyzer... the parts per million of fuel was slowly rising. He checked all the same things you did and lead himself to the same seal problem. Wondering if this is going to be a trend as these engines and trucks start crossing the 100,000 mark.. will be interesting to see... at least you have a great idea of where it is getting introduced at. KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE...

Usually someone chimes in to fill in such a gap.
