My 02 RAM 2500 had been giving my trouble starting. (Smoking idling rough when cold.). Died on the highway on Sunday and had to have it towed home. Tried replacing filter and diesel 911 in the bowl. Still won't start. Dealer tech thinks it is the injectors or lifter with out looking at it. Any help or suggestions?

 

Do a key on-off-on-off-on test to see if any codes pop up.

You probably need to make sure you have lift pump feed pressure before you go much further.

Anyway, check for codes and report back.
