Fuel Leak In Back Of Fuel Filter Canister
Have any of you had a problem with a fuel leak on the back side of the fuel filter housing?
I replaced my filter recently and now have a leak on the back side of the filter housing. While the engine is running its dripping diesel on my starter.
I pulled the $30 filter that I just repalced and found the rubber ring around the top to be loose. Bought another $30 fuel filter and just insatlled it but it's STILL leaking. Yes I replaced the rubber o-ring that goes around the stud.
$60 in filters and I'm at wits end unable to fix this leak.
Is there some other rubber seal that may be permanently mounted on the top of the filter housing that I lost or something???

Possible thought, the older filters came with a seperate square rubber ring that went under the cover. The newer ones come with the rubber as part of the filter. Maybe you have an old ring still in the cover. Save the filter you took out, you can still use it, put it in a freezer bag to keep it clean.
