fuel gauge installation

I have a 2002 ram and I was trying to install a fuel gauge and i want to put it in between the fuel filter and the Vp 44. I was going to cut out a section of the steel fuel line and use a tee but when i was talking to my dealership they informed me that they would not honor the warranty if any any modifications are made on the engine. So is there a test port that i can use on the pump or the fuel filter or do i have to buy a new steel fuel line to modify and keep my original incase the vp goes blows up. Any help would be appreciated.

Geno's sells a hose that will plug right into the test port on the VP-44...that is what I'm using, works great.

they also sell a tapped banjo bolt to go on the bottom of the filter. Thats what I going to install this weekend. They can only deny the warranty if that causes the break down.
