Fuel filter questions

Changing my fuel filter tomorrow, but my chilton workshop manual only covers rams up to the year 2000.Could anyone advise please on the torque setting for the 2002 fuel filter housing screw cap. Also the present filter is marked StrataPore by fleetguard,to speed up my visit at Cummins does anyone know the part number of this filter. Thanks

Good page to keep as a favorite.
It's from our Tech Facts section accessable via the button in the page header.

Looks like fs19579 should be the one you're seeking.

The Torque specs are marked on the top of the filter cap on my 2000. For that one it's 25 ft lbs.

Last trip to Cummins showed that FS19579 has been superceded by FS19579-E. Anyone have any idea what the change was?

They still look the same, but they'll not longer packed in boxes. Now they're just shrink wrapped.

Was this the change to a tighter weave for filtration, or something else?

Hi Shovelhead thanks for the info on the fuel filter and tech page, its now been added to my favourites.
Fschiola, just cleaned the top of my cap,it also shows 25lbs thankyou.
Aggiejustin, yes the filter part no has changed to fs1957900e.

While in Cummins I inquired about getting a spare lift pump, but over here they are £141 plus tax thats about 260 dollars plus tax. So I`ve added a lift pump to my shopping list when I visit Phoenix in February next year
