Fuel Filter Question
Fuel Filter Question
Howdy y'all. I'm new to the CTD scene and did my first oil/oil filter and fuel filter change today. The replacement filter that went in was slightly different than the one that came out. The black plastic on the end of the filter that snaps into the inside of the canister lid was only about 1/16 of an inch thick as opposed to the one that came out which was about 1/4 inch thick allowing it to snap into place and stay there. The new filter being only about 1/16 inch thick would not snap and stay into place. However, the overall length of the filter was identical. Although it is not marked anywhere on the filter it is suppose to be a Fleetguard and was sold to me by a diesel shop recommended by the local Bomber Board.
Should I be concerned about the difference in the fuel filter?

I think the clips are there just to hold it while putting it in, doesn't have to be tight. We put one in just yesterday on a friend's truck, it hung loose on the lid but fit well into the housing and fuel pressure was good.

Thanks for the reply. After I posted I found some verbage on the new style filters on the Geno's Garage site. http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo.asp?number=FS19579E
