Fuel Filter Fight restart, but I won!
Thanks to the multiple posts on changing my 02 fuel filter - you all made it really easy.
Unfortunately it was a tad scarry as even after bumping my starter(yes I know how to bump it at get the lift pump to run for its 20 seconds
) 5 times, it didn't fire right off on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd attempt.
After the 3rd try I ran(scared) to the laptop to verify my steps and bumped the starter again 3 times and got a "almost start."
Bumped the starter AGAIN 3x and finally cranked for 10 seconds where she finally fired off. I ran her for a couple minutes with no issues.
As I reflect on the filter change and by inital 5 bumps, the lift pump sounded kind of different each time. Sometimes louder, somtimes grinding? sometimes softer and quieter like a fuel sending unit in a gastank of a gasser.
Either way, it is running and I've got a temp fuel pressure gauge(Briar) on the way......Something in my gut tells me Mr. Lift Pump is about to die. My gauge will tell I guess.
a total of 12 bumps for it to finally fire off.......any thoughts?
thanks, 02Texas_Rattle

might be a good time to flow and pressure test your lift pump, and maybe even throw it away. Sounds like it is starting to have issues.
Our local dealer uses the benchmark of 10 psi at idle. if its below that, they change the pump out.

Your right...
Now all you need to do is test it or get fuel pressure guage to verify your problem. But the sounds of it you LP is dieing..
