Fuel Filter Change

I am about to change my FF for the first time. My warrenty is out, so there's no since in paying DC to do it any more.

I found pics of third gen changes, but no second gen. Anyone know where they are?

The fuel filter listed for my truck (99) on DTR is fs19598. Cummins gave me a fs19579 (2000). Will the fs19579 work? Who has changed the filter in their 99 and knows the right number?

The FS19579 is for 00-03. They changed the fuel filter cannister in 00, so i'd say that it won't work for you're 99. I could be wrong, maybe somebody will chime in who can say for sure. You're right that you should have gotten a FS19598 (97-99)

Well, I gotter done!

It went real well until I dropped the filter cannister and spilled diesel all over the street. That should make the nieghbors happy. Since it's suppose to come a hard rain tonight, I'll wait until tomorrow to clean it up better.

I guess my LP or a different system will be next. It still goes to about 14 at key-on and still idles at 11 psi, about same as it has been for awhile.

Chace, got any sales going on?

Put in a set of high flow banjo bolts, that will bring up the pressures. Might save you the trouble of changing the lift pump. When I changed mine I got 2 to 3 psi increase across the board. Here is a couple of places to get them.

Thanks billg,

I'm leaning toward the banjos and maybe a FASS or Carter pump.
