well it was not as bad to get at ..

It was bad. It was black and looked like a gummy tarry residue. kinda like a smoker's lung I guess.
. cleaned it with BRAKE parts cleaner.. I know I know...it is all I had on hand.....had to use a piece of rubber fuel line stuck.into the end of the sensor to get it started into the hole, then went to the 21mm socket.
Will fill up now and keep you all posted.
It really was dirty. I am optimistic that this will aid me in my quest for 20+ MPG.
My buddy stopped by yesterday and he has a reg cab 91 2WD and he said he gets 26MPG.
With mileage like that...and all that readily available power on tap,one would have to be an absolute fool to drive a stinking Toyota or S-10!

I use Ether to clean mine. evaporates fast and will not leave any residue. Gets rid of the tar crap pretty easily.
