The best thing i did was add a box, and mostly the DD2's which they say are the best milage injectors you can run.Stock my truck {4x4} would only get about 415 miles per tank highway...now, with the mods it gets 502 miles all highway no-hut downs

I've got your answer for the poor 5 mile trips... It's easy because I do it too smetimes... When you driving only 5 miles one way and shutdown your not getting the engine up to temp and kicking the computer into run mode.

I see the degrade in my 02 diesel and 96 gasser when I drive short hops. So I try to stack many thing to do at one time so it not a short hop... Hope it helps...

Better fuel mileage

A feller on the TDR offered the best response I've seen for getting better fuel mileage. He said all you gotta do is follow his mother-in-law wherever you want to go and he'll guarantee 20 mpg or better!

You'll get good mileage. I have an Edge box and RV275's and have not seen any difference in mileage. It's all about the go pedel.

Yep, that great feeling that puts you back in the seat also squeezes your wallet.

Even driving maniacally, I still get no worse than 15.5 hand calculated (as always).

Interstate in a crosswind at 75 I get 19-20.

If I go slow and there's no wind, I can get 24

Gotta love the 5600

even if some of the mod claims are right , if you put a pencil to it it doesn't work. so spend on what you want and to conserve fuel keep your foot out of it.

i have the auto tranny. And i get 20 mpg in the city, and thats not being a nice boy. I could squeeze 23 if i play nice. On the hiway at 85 mph i am getting 24. My friend who has the same set up as me except an 01, with comp (untapped) 1.5s, and 4 inch exhaust. He is getting 21 in the city, and 26 on the highway...and this is me and him driving side by side.

24 mpg and 26 mpg, at 85 mgh, from an automatic?? That has to be a worlds record!
Your profile says your into 4x4ing so I assume you might have a 4x4? Even if it's a 2x4 CTD, that mileage, at that speed, is exceptional!
Sure your formula from liters and KM's converting to miles & gallons is correct?
I'd be thrilled with 24 mpg at just 65 mph.
