fuel coming through top of filter assembly

have fuel coming out of the red wire that goes into the top of the fuel filter assembly. think it is the fuel heater?

is this a common occurence?

what portion of the assembly has to be replaced?

fuel injector pump was replaced last week, think it is just coincidental that this has occurred now.

thanks in advance for any help,
Randy

check your o-ring on the filter cap, had mine bunch and poke out on the back the first time I tried to seat the cap...or it could be damaged if they took it loose...might just look like it's coming from the wire...

This happens every once in a while. The seal around the wires tha go into the heater area fail. I think you have to replace the whole filter assy. About $200 at the dealer, if I remember. Probably a lot more affordable at a Cummins place.

A little info here, but just a note.

"Leaking fuel at fuel filter - 98-99 check the fuel heater connection on top of the filter housing, there have been leaks reported whrer the wiring enters the housing.
