front wheel bearing

My front wheel bearings have alittle play, can they be tightened up some?? How about surface grinding a couple 1000' off the beaing races?? Any one ever try that? Will it hold up? The bearings and races look fine just need snug up. Any ideas?

Well I did it, surface ground 3k off the inner bearing and it tightened it up just right. All you need is surface grinder and press. Saved myself 400.00. Only took about 1/2 hr. to do once the hub was off the truck. Repacked both bearings and all looks A-1.
