front rotors and bearings

I need to change the front rotors on my 98.5 dually and would like to know how to take out bearing. I have had the hub rotor assembly off in the past when I did the ball joints so I know how to get them off I just not sure about the wheel bearing coming out and is there a seal in there also. I was thinking maybe replacing everything bearing, rotors etc as they are the orginal and the truck has 200k on them

if it's 2wd the bearings come out and there is a seal. Put new bearings, races and seals in mine a couple months ago. not a big deal. be sure to put in new races with the bearings. I forget if it was inside or outside, but one came with the race and the other the race was seperate. I use O'reilly's as they have Japanese bearings instead of Chinese. The chinese were in there when i bought the truck. Trashed.

That is a unit bearing, non serviceable, so the whole thing has to be changed. If you're doing the rotors over too then life is good, just slap the new rotors on the new bearings and be done. Only down fall is they are big $$$, well over $200 if you have 4 wheel abs.

It's been a while since I've changed mine, but I remember having to set wheel studs through the hub into the rotor to get the new rotor on.

^^ that is correct, you have to knock out the studs and drive them back in to get the rotor off/on, that's the easy part of that job.

now you have me thinking, you have to do that anyway to separate the bearing, i think.
