Front Diff Vent Tube.

So yesterday after my truck has sat over night and all day with no driving at all there is a bunch of gear oil running out and down on the ground. Found the culprit it was coming out of the top of the breather hose that goes up on the fender well and is under the air box. What would cause this to do this? and why after sitting all night and all after noon with no driving would it do it? I did have to get on it hard in 4x4 high pulling a heaving stock trailer up a steep hill on Friday but other than that I am at a loss. If the vent was pluged wouldn't it not puke out the top?

Sounds like you may have gotten an air lock in the vent hose and it burped out a little fluid after heating up and getting a little steep, then cooling down overnight.

I recall the D60's take fluid to a half inch below the check plug. 70 degrees wouldn't expand it that much.

my vent did this all the time, since i don't do any water fording usually, I just zip-tied the hose to hang off the bottom of the frame on the passenger side that way the oil just drips on the ground and not all over the fender, never did find out why it does tho
