Re:Fluid change time

Your tranny comes from the factory with synthetic in it. If you can't get the oil from Dodge you can get the same thing from GM.

Re:Fluid change time

I've got synthetic in both differentials, transfer case, and the transmission. I didn't use the factory recommended Castol Syntorq LT in the transmission. It's hard to find, except from dealerships, and the cheapest I could find it online was at standardtransmission.com for $54 per gallon.

I used Amsoil series 2000 75W-90 GL-5 gear lube and it was less than $30 for 4 quarts. They assured me it was compatible with yellow metals, ie the synchros. Been in since last fall and no problems. I know others have used Redline synthetic gear lube. I don't know about Mobil 1, but that's readily available at many retail locations.

Re:Fluid change time

I use the factory lube in my NV 4500. With a newer truck, I would susoect that 2nd and reverse syncos are the cause of your problem. It is hard to get into 1st when cold to start off?
John

I may be just over reacting 49000 mi. it only fights with me once and a while.
Gotta couple of side jobs to do this weekend. That will give me some extra $$$$, and next weekend I will change the fluids.
maybe even some new shocks
New fluids might just help. 8)
