Question Flow test on LP

I'm gonna be going in to the dealer soon to have a flow test done on my LP soon so I wanted to know what are the numbers I should be getting?? I don't trust my dealer, I'm not even sure they know the difference betwen a diesel engine and a toaster
Its still under warrenty so if its bad they'll have to change it.

I'm also looking for a good diesel mechanic in my area to go to so I can get it done there first and really know what its getting. Thanks for any info

Does flow test =pressure test? I'm not sure, but maybe we're talking the same thing. For around 35 bucks, you can get a portable test gauge (Briar Hopper Test Gauge) that temporarily screws to a Schrader valve on the fuel line to the IP. Takes about a minute to hook up. You can do your own test have have it for future use. Always fun to take along to meets too. I believe the dealer test won't be free if nothing is wrong. They'll charge you a diagnostic fee I'm sure. FWIW, my 02's LP is still pushing strong at 69,000 miles. I think normal pressures are 14 lbs at idle and 8-10 WOT. I think the dealer derates them by several pounds before declaring it a bad pump.

No there not the same thing commatoze. The dealers are no longer pressure testing these pumps. Now they do a flow test & check to see how many gallons per miniute they produce. I forgot what the acceptable flow rate is supposed to be. Maybe someone else that dosen't have crs will chime in here.

please tell the dealer I went to yesterday that they are no longer pressure testing pumps... they won't even look at my truck until I reconnect the stock fuel system. He said that they needed to pressure test the pumps to diagnose an injection pump failure.

TSB 14-002-03 describes the test:

At least 1.33 liters in 25 seconds, according to the TSB.

Well I went to the deal last friday, they tested the pump and it was getting 3-4psi @ idle. Which means my guage is working good!! Took him about 15mins to change it. It was under warrenty so no charge. I did have to pay to get the fuel filter changed and they hosed me there! $91CDN($66US) to change it if I would of known I would of brought my own. What the diesel tech told me was before warreny ends for me to come in and get the LP replaced again and to tell them I have injection pump code problem so they change that as well. Not sure if this was for my benifit or his. Nonetheless i get 16psi @ idle and 10-12psi@WOT even better than the my last LP!!!
