A Few Questions For Anyone With FASS DDRP
A Few Questions For Anyone With FASS DDRP
The lift pump on 2002 is stock and still working but I've noticed in the past 6 months that I can get the pressure to drop to 5 psi without too much trouble. I'm still seeing 11 or 12 psi at idle but would like to put a new pump on the truck before heading out on holidays this summer. I've been thinking about the FASS DDRP and then I can keep this one as a spare but I wanted to hear from some DDRP owners first. My questions: What kind of pressures are you seeing at idle and WOT? Did you mount it in the stock location or on the frame? How long have you had it?
All replies are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i love my fass 150-150. i also took the stock pump and filter off the truck. if you get the fass with the filters i would go with the shorter filters if u drive in the snow any. the long filters hang down a little too far for my taste and they seem to catch a little snow. i see 15.5 psi at idle have not seen it down past 10 psi puttin the hammer down. mounted it on drivers side where fass says too, kept as high as i could. have about 80k miles on it. i also found after puttin the fass on i have not jelled up once. i think that the rubber line acts as a insulator. just puttin in my two cents
Or instead of buying more electric crap to fail on you, why not try this. I just ordered one and am now waiting for delivery. I kind of like the idea of more engine rpm's, more fuel pressure.

I've had mine for almost a year, and it's mounted in the stock location. WOT pressure has never dropped below 10psi, idle is around 14psi. I know there is a lot of negative discussion about this pump on the internet, but for stock or mildy modified trucks, I believe this is a premium alternative to the Carter pump for the PRICE. Plus it has a 4 year warranty.
I believe fuel pressure issues are only part of the problem with VP44 failures. 80% of the failures are the fragile electronics. There are two youtube videos that demonstrate removal and installation of Dodge/Cummins VP44s, and both trucks had the expensive, aftermarket frame mounted fuel pumps, and yet both still had VP44 failures!

Thanks for the input guys. My truck is stock and I'm not planning any mods so the DDRP would work for me. I saw some negative info about the pump somewhere and wanted some feedback from guys who have been using it for a while.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
We installed one for a customer and it is working very well. When my pump fails I would buy one.
I've had mine for a couple of months now mounted in the factory spot. Easy install and very happy with it. Idles around 20psi. Can pull it down to 10 to 12 under heavy throttle with the edge on 3. My stock trans can't take any more than that anyway. I recommend it.
