Few Q's

This weekend I get to spend some quality time with my truck for the first time. Fuel gauge, fuel filter, oil change and I was just looking under the truck and you unscrew the oil plug with just a 3/8's ratchet on the drain plug correct. While I was under the truck it also looks like the Trans pan is leaking just a little, what are the torque specs for the trans pan bolts, 47RE if I'm not mistaken on a '02 4 speed auto. Last but not least Oil weight. I'm going to buy some Rotella 15w 40 is that the correct weight oil.

TIA for helping this noob.
Bill.

3/8" ratchet, 13 ft/lbs on the fluid pan bolts and 15w40 is an excellent choice. May want to change the filter too if you already have the pan off. Check and make sure it's not the fluid cooler lines that are leaking.

Thanks Joe, I was hoping to just tighten the tranny bolts first and see if that helps. If I have to remove the pan to replace the gasket I will change the filter and yes it's leaking from the pan.

Thanks again.
