Question Few codes, any ideas?

Well, first off, couple weeks ago I towed a 3000lb trailer to SD and back. After unhooking at my dad's house, drove home empty and the check engine light came on. Truck was running fine though. I got home and checked the codes, showed a P0252. Cleared the codes and no problems afterward.

Last week I hauled an 8000lb toyhauler up to the Black Hills. No problems going up there, but seemed a bit underpowered. Driving around empty up there, check engine light came on again, this time showed P0237. Cleared it and hooked up to the camper yesterday and towed it home. Truck ran fine all the way to my folk's house, unhooked the camper and left to drive the 100 miles home. All the way home after unhooking the trailer, truck was jerking, seemed like it was missing. Fuel pressure was never under 8 or 9 psi. Got home last night and checked codes again.
Now it's showing:
P0237
P0251
P0252
P0253

Injection pump going maybe? Or possibly problems with the Banks box?

The Superchips is back to stock, going to unplug the Banks stuff tomorow, see if that's a problem as it taps the pump wire.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Really sounds like the VP44 is about done from some of the codes you have posted. Could be faulty wiring connections though; it certainly wouldn't hurt to make sure all connections and grounds are clean and secure. Good luck.

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of...really don't want to have to replace the VP, hopin I get lucky

Just kind of wondering since I haven't gotten any of the so-called "death codes"

Don't know about that, I have read here over the years that the P0251 and P0252 actually are death codes for the VP44. Nonetheless it can't hurt to make sure all your connections are good. With electronics you just never know...

You might be right. It doesn't look real good, but the symptoms have me wondering...
Just for reference, here's the code definitions:
P0251 Fuel Inj Pump Fuel valve Feedback Circ
P0252 Fuel Inj Pump Fuel Valve Stuck
P0253 Fuel Inj Pump Fuel Valve Open Circ
P0237 MAP Sens Voltage Too Low

Well, haven't had time to get the Banks unplugged or check all my wiring yet. Any other input?

Well, finally got time to pull the Banks box out. Check engine light went out and no codes now...guess maybe I'll be in the market for a new box...

and the rest of the story...

Well, really wondering now...

Truck's been running fine since the last post. Tonight, drove down the road about 10 miles to go fishing. Got loaded up and drove back. Fuel pressure sitting around 14 at idle, 11 or so at 65mph. Stopped to drop off my buddy at his house and now the truck just cranks over, doesn't even try to start. Lift pump is not cycling at all... Dark out and I've got to get up at 4:00, so I just thought I'd post here, see if someone has any ideas tonight before I look into it tomorow. Thanks in advance...

It's a shot in the dark, but it sounds to me like you might have a bad electrical connection or a bad ground somewhere. I would start by cleaning all the grounds, then checking and cleaning the connectors (don't forget fuses and relays) on all the fuel related stuff. Also, I think you have a crank position sensor on the 2000 model year. If that fails, the truck may not start, and the lift pump won't run either. It's not much but it's worth a shot.

I'm thinkin you hit the nail on the head. Just got off work and walked over. Turned the key, pressure went up to 15 and fired right off. Runnin fine now and didn't throw any codes...

Going to finish pullin the Banks stuff out tonight and start checking connections on everything. I don't know now if the Banks stuff is actually bad or not, but I just bought a Juice w/Attitude. Just waiting for it to show up...Going to call Banks and see if I can't send it in and have the box checked out.

Thanks for the help.
