Fass DDRP issues...
I found that DDRP's don't like any bits of garbage in the fuel, I found several bits of plastic in mine from when I did the high flow pick up tube install. Even as small and thin as the pieces were, it siezed up the pump. I have gotten it free, and it works once again. Can I put a small in line filter on the frame rail near the tank to help screen the last little bit of sediment and plastic out of the tank? I used an older style gas truck in line filter as a temporary fix, but I am going to be taking this truck on a 1200 mile trip in one week. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

Yes and mine came with a screen filter.
Ike, here's a simple solution. Go to NAPA (or other available auto parts store) and buy an inline fuel filter (sometimes called a strainer).
fleetguard fuel strainer FF-5079. Have them cross it to something they have. There is a difference between filter/strainers for diesel and gas. Get one for diesel.
I have 3 pickups, all diesel and use them on all of them.
On my dodge it is just before the FASS. On my Chev I modified the lift pump from a 5.9 cummins to fit the Chev compression ftgs. and it has the same filter before that pump.
Don't make a bug deal out of the filter, just make sure your pump is getting clean fuel. Carry a spare. Have a good trip!
I bought a case of 12 of them off of Ebay for $20 including postage.

i'm using a 2 micron racor fuel filter ahead of the stock campaign carter frame mounted pump, it's been there for the last 7 or 8 years with no problems with either the pump or fuel pressure

did the screen do a very good job of catching dirt & junk? i've never even removed mine to take a look at it since i installed mine a couple of years ago....fuel pressure always stays good with my DDRP so i figured it couldn't be plugged up up or anything......i usually always have some real small debris in the bottom of the fuel filter canister when i change out fuel filter....
