fact. upgrades/lift pump?

Wondering, I thought I read somewhere that dodge/ cummin's came out with a intank upgrade to help out failing lift pumps. I notice that I can hear a humming from tank with key on after a failed first start. could this be that upgrade? how do you know you have it? Warranty stickers are unreadable on rad. support. Thanks, Nate

Is there a lift pump mounted on the block? If so, is the harness connected? If not, you have an in tank pump. usually the other end of the harness is visible as well plugged into an extension harness back to the tank.

I would not call the in tank pump an upgrade. It was a Chrysler "fix". But they do fail and we are getting more an d more all the time.
