So I had the PCM issue with the state of n charge, put the external voltage regulator on and the voltmeter on the dash said it was charging up around 15 volts then after a few minutes it was take off and bottom out at 18 volts. With a multimeter though, we were reading 14.4-14.8, even when the gauge was pegged. Used an inductive pick up and a battery load tester to add load to the batteries but the amperage output from the alternator never change between loading and unloading the batteries. The amperage stayed at about 70 amps. So we took the VR back thinking it was faulty. Installed the new one and tried it again, nothing changed. Where do I go now? I will add that for the 12V ignition source I used the gen field source(dark blue) which had originally fed power from the PCM to the alternator.
