Exhaust Temp

Hey, I have a 2001 Dodge with a 5.9L 24V in it! It only has 3" exhaust and when pulling hills loaded My pyro reads about 1200- 1500 F which seams really high! What type of readings should I be getting and if I upgrade too larger exhaust will how much should that affect the readings?

You should be keeping it below 1,300 degrees. What mods do you have?
