Exhaust question

I sold my 98 Dodge to my dad so I could upgrade to a newer truck which is a 02 Dodge that is identical to my old 98. my old truck has 246,000 miles and an Edge EZ on it. My new one only has 90,000. Both have the silencer ring removed and the mufflers removed. So why is the old truck so much louder than the new one? Also you can here his turbo from a mile away and the only way you can hear mine is if I get on the gas.

The 12 valve is quieter than the 24 valve. Since your older truck had the EZ on it, I'm sure you also had the boost turned up. If that's the case, that would explain why you could hear the turbo on his better than on yours. I'm also going to say that the EZ might have caused it to be louder on the exhaust as well since it messes with the timing and fueling a little. Other than that, I don't know.
