Dads 02 3/4, 6 speed, 3.54, 4x4 is making a real faint engine surge when at 70mph around 1800 rpm. Truck is stock exept the bhaf, and the ring is gone . Showing a p pcu, p 0500, and p1693. Thinking the codes are from abs, spinning etc.

Pulls 75% of the time, one of the last trips was pulling my 13 000# truck 200 miles home when the lp died, and it went fine.

It has the original lp, vp44 and about 40 000 miles, and 13 months of engine warranty, so it will be taken in to the dealer to change lp to intank anyway. Any ideas.

 

I'm throwing the P0216 and I have the same symptom, an audible surge at cruising speeds. Have you had any dead pedal? I'd have the dealer check it out. You should be suspicious after losing the LP, that'll do wonders for you IP.

It was my 04.5 that had the dead LP. Replaced with a fass.

Anyway, I went out and put my code scanner on dads, and its showing a p0216, and p0253, both dieing vp codes and p0234, an overboost code on a stock truck? Why?

 

A wastegate sticking or a bad MAP sensor, might set that code (P0234). You said the truck is under warranty. The dealer should be able to fix it.

 

mine did the same thing and then 30 days later, it threw the 0216 code along with my persistent 0122 and 1693. Injector pump was dying and was replaced still under warranty. APPS is schedulled to be replaced next week. I have reset the stupid thing about once a week for the last 4 months. Tired of foolin' with it. Good luck but I would say your inj. pump is going bad.

 

Something I reread the other day was cumins code for 0216 code .They list noise on Pin 8 the sync pulse. Going to reask next day about more info on it.
