can someone tell me whats wrong. I just replaced my injection pump on my 98.5 dodge . The old pump was a 235 hp & i put a 245hp on it i had guys tell me it works but now it starts hard & a code comes up & says injection pump timing failure. thanks for your help

 

245 injection pump is for the 01-02 H.O. trucks. I don't know the details, but I've read many times that a S.O. 235 pump can go on the H.O. truck, but not the other way around.

 

You need to get the correct pump for the engine or have your old one redone and put it back on. Can't go wrong that way. As mentioned above, the HO pump will only give you problems.

I did the HO pump at 180k miles, works great, 410k now. but don't use with chips for std pump. You probably have other problems.
