eliminating the 'in tank' LP.

I've done the volume test on my stock in tank LP & it gets the bare minimum volume (its running about 8psi at idle & 2-3psi wot) I bought a inline 'airtex' pump & ran it for awhile in tandem with the in tank pump & had waaay high fuel pressure (28psi at idle & never under 18wot) I really didnt like the harder starting from the extra pressure. Im thinking of eliminating the in tank pump entirely, but I dont really want to use a draw straw. So I guess I will need the stock fuel tank sending unit & fuel pickup assembly? Will the 'intank' wiring still plug into this unit?

You can find the stock modules on Ebay all the time. Somebody works at a Dodge dealership installing intank pumps and he sells all the used '98-02 modules he pulls out for $40 - $75. They will fit later models.

So that's why they always replace the block mounted with the in tank pump. Bit of side action going on.....

Either the draw straw or the old style sending unit with the pickup tube, either way you'll have to drop the tank to do it. Did a draw straw on a friends truck and it was simple and you'll probably get off cheaper with the draw straw. Then think about the unit you'll be buying off ebay. It has the fuel level sending unit on it, how old is it?? How long will it last?? With the unit you already have at least you know how old it is and how it has been taken care of.
