EGT's sound right?

My EGT's seem low. Granted, the air is about 70* (+-5*) and I have a BHAF with a 4" straight pipe, but they still seem low. Sitting at a stop light, they hover around 410. Accelerating normally they get up to about 600. When I cruise at 55mph with OD off, they read about 500. Full throttle accleration all the way up to 80mph, they never read above 670. This is with the comp on 1x5. The pyro is centered directly behind the exhaust turbine housing as close as I can get it to it and it is right in the center of the exhaust flow (measured diameter of pipe, took half of that, put tip of pyro about 1/8"-1/4" below so whole tip is in stream). I have a post gauge (trying to figure out a dual setup with the Dakota's) so they will be lower than pre but this seems really low. Do these numbers seem right? The probe is brand new from Dakota. But even with my old Autometer gauges, it read that low.

Re:EGT's sound right?

Post turbo users generally add 300 degrees to "guess" at the pre turbo tempertures. Thats a rule of thumb however that is not true in all cases it can vary by as much as 600 degrees.

With the COMP on 1x5 (did you retap the wire?) its jsut an EZ mode type of upgrade, with stock injectors 970 doesn't sound unreasonable. I don't get much over 1050 pre on my BD IV injectors only (120hp), but I have a few air upgrades.

Pump wire is hooked back up. EGT's don't change though really on any setting.

Re:EGT's sound right?

With a set of 275 hp injectors and a Power Max 2 and EZ I have to work real hard to get mine above 1200* pre turbo. That's with a BHAF and a strait pipe, and pulling about 8k up a 6% grade at 70mph. 8)

Darrell

Bone stock Jack. Just can't run it above level 2. Maybe an occasional level 3 if I am locked up.
