My cummins ECM went bad a little over a year ago. Had the computer remanufactured and just went bad again. I can get my hands on a junk yard computer for cheaper then having to pay to re-manufacture it again. The issue is My cummins has a cali emissions computer in it and the one i can get is federal emissions. Will this effect anything? I do not live in California or in a state that does emission testing. I have a california computer in it now for a manual trani and it doesnt like to idle right. What would i need to do to federal ECM to make it work just have the vin programmed?
