Ecm

my truck went into limp mode a few weeks ago and after some research it was determined that the ECM went out ... Replaced with rebuilt had a bunch of codes in it when I installed it .. cleared the codes and now i keep getting the 0341 and 1693 codes back .... never had any trouble from the cam sensor in past why would this just pop up ? and yes the tach does drop off and return .
another strange thing that just is since i installed the ECM is the heat controls do not function , stays in defrost all the time. truck has replaced lift pump and VP44 about 50 k ago .
Thank you in advance for any help !!
as much as I hate to take this to the dealer I need this truck and need it right !!

electrical can cause strange gremlins to chase down and if the cam, tack drops off your sensor could be acting up best bet check all plugs and grounds and wiring harness to start. Next when the engine running go around the engine bay and shake and pull on the wiring harness and see what happens could be a brake in a wire. After that you may need to take it in and have it scanned that's about all one can do without proper tools!!!

heat controls..
most likely you knock off a vacuum line..the default is defrost..
I've done it on mine..same sympton..

might it be possible the replacement ECM is bad or has problems?

x2. The main vacuum line from the pump runs close to the ECM on the way to the firewall. It's pretty easy to knock off.

where did you get the ECM at? didn't sound like you got it at the dealership.
So your issues started as soon as you put the new? or refurb ECM in. Sounds like either Connections but likely ECM may be bad or wrong software loaded. Did you yourself install the ECM. disconnect both batteries before etc. etc. not trying to make you seem dumb. just trying to get the whole picture.
and these codes were not present when the original ecm took a dump. when mine went out i had those same codes. but were gone once the new ecm was installed codes cleared etc. etc.

I got the ECM from GOECM.com even dodge does not have new ECM's so we are left buying a re=man this has a lifetime warranted where as others only have a 1 yr
I will let u know the outcome .... it is going in today but they may not get the chance to look at it till next tues.

good luck . when i put in my ECM it was from dodge dealership and it was new. not a reman. I got it at their cost and software was free. I have a friend that is a mechanic at the dealership. But i did have to wait almost a week to get the new one sent to the dealership.

I also got a new ECM when mine went out 5 or 6 years ago. Shipped overnight, took a week to get!!

Second/third the vacuum line off or a deteriorating connection. usually the 3-way at top of firewall...
