Ecm
Mine went bad, bought a used one. You should be able to find a used one for less than $500. The two numbers you're looking for are the part number and the ECM code number. You need to match the part number (for my 02 HO 6spd it's 3947912), the ECM code number is less important. If it's the same as yours then it's the exact same program (identical twin to your ECM), if it's different then it's an earlier or later program but it's still a match for your configuration provided the part number matches.
Here's a source on ebay (no experience with them, but it sounds like they'll meet your needs).
I have gone through 2 in 6 months
First one last summer because of numerous gauge problems; dealer tracked down and replaced (about $1500). Then about a month ago, i was having problems with my APPS; turns out, ECM wasnt reading correctly. Dealer replaced ECM under part warranty.
