Don't forget to check for missing rags!!!(engine running erraticaly and smoking....)
It's all true. I'm guessing that the engine burned most of the rag and what ever didn't get burned got chopped up by the valves and turbo. I read somewhere that Cummins actually dropped a bunch of stuff in the intake of these motors to see what would stop them up. Things like nuts, bolts, rags, etc. I wish I could find where I read that at.
