Does Stanadyne really work that well?

I just put some in, and I am pretty darn surprised at the added power. It's not earth shattering but the lower rpm's certainly are more alive. I put in the Stanadyne PF, prevents gelling, lubricant, etc. Hopefully this is not a sign that my vp44 is in trouble? 98.5 24V, 94,000.

I started using the Stanadyne Diesel Formula Jr about a month ago. I like it, the most signifigant thing I noticed was the mpg improvement, around 1.5 mpg. Of course this is really subjective, my driving habits could have been a little different from the previuos tank of fuel. May have been my imagination, but the engine did seem to be a little more responsive in the lower rpms as well. I don't think you can go wrong with Stanadyne, allways heard a lot good about them. I just got the Stanadyne lubricity formula, will be adding it tomorrow. Based on what I have seem so far, I will probably be sticking with Stanadyne, price is very cost effective compared to most of the other leading brands as well.

Might want to check out threads elsewhere on here regarding 2 cycle oil as additive. Stanadyne didn't do so well as far as lubricity in a study done on another board.

How much lubricity is needed? I wonder how many cummins owners even really know that the lower sulfur fuels even affected them. The stuff that I got says "Formulated for ultra low sulfur diesel." I hope this is enough in the lubricity department, but who knows.

I'm still using Stanadyne PF.
Adding 2 stroke with it.
