does a better lift pump = more smoke?

I want to get more smoke from my truck so I bought stage 2 injectors from Edge to go with my Edge juice w/ attitude monitor and now I am looking for an aftermarket lift pump for better fuel delivery. What are the different brands out there and which brand is better? How much pressure is too much? Is there a chemical I can use in the fuel for more smoke (have been trying engine oil and tranny oil but not much change other than making the lift pump quieter). Any suggestion would help, thanks.

All the fuel pressure in the world won't give you more smoke.
Most of us work hard a keeping the smoke level down... so we can continue to enjoy our 'diesel sport' in the future!

If you have it tuned well yes you will get lot's of smoke but it should be coming from the REAR TIRES not out the tailpipe

I live in the beer consumption capital of Canada..Huron County. Some people say we are a bit like hics, the cops dont really care about a bit of smoke or a loud exhaust system as long as we keep it quiet at night in town they dont say too much.

It doesn't matter what the cops think... it matters what the subaru driving granola eaters think.

In either case, I'm surprised you haven't been able to get it to roll a little bit of smoke with that setup... have you adjusted the low boost fueling in your edge? In 5x5, mine will leave a nice cloud... nothing major but it's definitely there.

Smoke does not equal power.

Smoke means unburned fuel.

Excessive smoke will be our downfall, no matter where you live or how much beer you drink.

Put down the beer and look at the whole picture and how you effect us all.

I know what I say means nothing and that you will do as you please..but I had to say it.

No Chris, I'm not offened at all. But thanks.

I just see what's coming and don't like it. I see guys on the road smoking out traffic, I read about it here and I know when enough people complain about it, and they do, we will get more laws, more fines and more emissions testing for diesels. We have had it good for a long time, but I think it will end soon. Soon Al Gore will be blaming us for global warming.

Last week I was stopped on a 4 lane highway at a red light. A Dodge/Cummins was at the front of stopped traffic, I was back about six vehicles from him. When the light turned green the D/C blew smoke so thick (there was no wind) that the cars in front of me couldn't see well enough to move. He had to have his turbo boot off or his MAP unhooked because he really blew smoke for about 100 yards. We all just sat there for about 15 seconds waiting for the smoke to clear. Yes, I thought it was a cool thing to see, but at the same time I knew actions like this is not good for us all. I caught up to him a few miles down the road at another red light, he looked to be about 16 years old and had his hat on sideways. I was young and stupid too, but that was a long time ago.

There is nothing that I can do, I can't and really don't want to control what others do. But I can express my opinion which is all that I am doing here.

Ram1999, I see your point. I just wanted more smoke when playing on the backroad with my buddies but when on the regular roadways turn the module down.

Anyway, I still need a new lift pump so if anyone has a brand they prefer please let me know what brand it is and why its better than the next.
