Dodge Diesel Blow off Valve
Dodge Diesel Blow off Valve
Hey,
I have a quick question about the blow off valve for the diesel trucks. I was searching for a blow off valve for my diesel truck and i came across one that said that it was universal, but it didn't specify if it was only for cars or trucks. The brand that said they were universal are Greddy, HKS, and Forged. Some of you might know that most of those brands are made for ricers. So I just wanna know if universal meant for trucks too? I wasn't to sure.
Thanks
Ryan

No offense, but blow off valves are for turbo gassers.
I believe they purge the air between the turbo and the throttle plate when you let off the gas (i.e. throttle plate closes, the air has no where to go).
Diesels have no throttle plate therefore it is pointless.

Some guys run them. The big boost guys (75 psi +) run them to help avoid compressor surge/stall. I agree though, on a stock truck they are kinda pointless.
