The disks sure don't last very long but having new disks could explain the chatter with the Amsoil although the capacity is pretty large and 2 bottles is probably better.

Mines doing the same thing, has been for a long time. Will driving it another 5-10k miles hurt it too bad?

Mine started doing it when I changed to Amsoil. Could be just a coincidence though. I still have it in the front dif and transfer case. I put in my Civics 5spd and its great.

307Kenworth - thats a great question that I would also like to know the answer to.

You had probably not let it go too long. Tore into mine the other day and one of the plates that the gear that goes on the spider gears goes on (confused yet?) cracked on mine, I'll get a picture posted of exactly what went sometime soon.

Most of you guys dont get the wording understood with most gear oils. The claim limited slip compatible. That does not mean the additives are in it. I have seen more knumb nuts ruin a good carrier by doing this. As I remember the correct refill percentage wise is 7 percent. So for every 100 oz of gear oil you need 7 percent of additive. Ford dealers parts department have a real good price on the limited slip additive.

Spent all day in the truck Sat. Round trip to Maine with a boat in tow on the way back and I only noticed chatter when I first started towing. Hopefully it went away.
