Here's a free fix : Clean your ground wires.

The effect that is occuring is known as a "ground loop". Ground loop cause unwanted electrical "noise" on electrical and signal lines.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_loop_(electricity)

Dirty connections, corrosion, and loose connections all contribute to ground loop. Fixing it is easy though. Generally involves cleaning ALL ground connections affecting the transmission and controlling it. Batteries, frame connections and the PCM on the firewall all need to be cleaned.

IMO tin foil shielding and power filters are simply band-aids that mask the underlying problem. And like I said before a simple cleaning with a wire brush and a piece of sandpaper will normally fix the problem with the lockup clutch.

Here is one of my posts from another thread involving the same issue.

The most critical wire to clean is the one on the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) which sits on the firewall, on the passenger side (5,6). The PCM is what controls the lockup clutch. There is a ground wire on it that runs to the firewall. On my truck, I did not like the amount of corrosion I saw on my PCM ground wire, so I replaced it. Made a new one with soldered eye terminals to minimize corrosion. I also sanded the firewall and PCM where the ends connect.
I had the lockup issue and it immediatly was solved after cleaning the gounds.

I did the DTT
noise filter and cleaned the grounds. Fixed it. The Dodge place couldn't figure it out but the Forums did!

You may also check your batteries. I used to have a problem, tried grounds and all then found out the batteries were going bad. Put new ones in and the problem went away. Had already done the foil and new ground wire from the computer straight to battery ground. Been a couple of years since batteries were changed. Last week it started searching again. Cleaned battery terminals and no problem since.

I am getting the same grief, I have the Suncoast APPS ground rewire done and that worked, but I don't use my Truck that often only for towing the 5ver and Quads, so the batterys get corroded, but I am going to try shielding the charge wire and install the capacitor as well.

After you clean your batteries try coating the terminals and posts (coat posts before installing terminals) with dialectric silicone, or even wheel bearing grease, the terminals will stop corroding once the terminals are coated
