dead throttle

I have a 1998.5 Dodge 3500 24 valve that runs great most of the time but when crusing down the highway the throttle goes dead and you have to let the throttle go back to idle and then it goes back to normal. The truck already had a fass lift pump and an edge program box . is there a way to fix this problem without just swapping out the vp44 pump.

in my experience, which may be unique to me. Dead pedal is caused by a bad Vp however the throttle going completely dead and dropping to idle is causes by a bad APPS sensor. When I replaced my Vp I expected it to fix both these problems. It did eliminate dead pedal but it would still drop to idle after a long trip AFTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. APPS ended up fixing that. If I were you i would look into that APPS sensor that everyone always talks about on here thats cheap and works just as well as the some 400+ dollar dealer replacement. I forget what the website is but im sure someone with chime in with it.

Just as stated by Captain...my issue was just the opposite as I replaced my VP44. I replaced the APPS first as it was the cheaper of the two options...exact same issue as you're describing still continued, replaced the pump last weekend and have yet to experience the problem. BUT my dead pedal issue only occurred after full warm up and driving for at least 30min+. If I were you, I'd try the cheaper of the two options first.
