day started out bad and then.....

day started out with having to replace the tracking bar and tie rod end at the pitman arm. after doing this i bumped the lower control arm for the front axle on the passenger side, it made a rattle sound. i looked closer to find the bushing had popped out of the arm and was very loose. i called the dealers in the area and noone had one, besides they wanted 250.00 for one. well, the next day i was going to the firehouse and there are a million junkyards around the station so i fiqured i would get one from the bone yard till i could get a new one. i went to about a dozen yards and finally i found one, i asked the guy behind the counter if i could go look at the truck to see if i could find anything else i needed. i really didn't need anything, i just wanted to look around and see what was in there. well, he let me go back to where they were pulling off the control arm and it was a 01' dually 4x4 that was smacked in the front, the bed was gone and the motor was removed. the exhaust was still in place and i almost wigged when i saw it- a brand new stainless 4" exhaust complete with pyrometer sensor and everything. i removed the rubber hangers and the exhaust was still loose at the clamps. i piled the exhaust in the yard truck and went up front to pay for the control arm. i asked the guy what he wanted for the exhaust, he said" muffler and all?"- i told him there was no muffler, just the pipe from the turbo back to the rear bumper.......hows 40.00 sound? i couldn't get the cash out fats enough. i pulled my truck around the back, threw that exhaust in the back and was gone in the blink of an eye. got to the station and immediately started putting it on , and it fit perfectly and sounds great. now for the question of this story- where is the best place to put the pyrometer sensor, before or after the turbo? what can i expect from this exhaust on my 2000 4x4 cummins? sure does seem to spool up faster now. i took off the factory exhaust and replaced with this stainless system with no muffler or resonator.
