Dana 80???

Man I thought I knew all the features on my truck (the one in my sig.), untill the other day. While gazing under my hood I looked up at the "feature sticker" on my hood and noticed that I hadn't wiped the dust off it. When I wiped the dust off I noticed that I have a Dana 80. I thought that was the axle that was used on the duallies. Am I thinking wrong? or the the original owner just order a "tank"?

My grandpa has an '01 2500 with the "same" set up, heavy 3/4 ton. And after I found out about my axle I slid under his truck and the rear axle and brakes look like tinker toys compaired to likin logs.

No if you have a manual transmission - you have a Dana 80.

D80's went under 5-speed manuals, and on all 6-speed H.O. trucks. I imagine you could get one behind an auto special order. Take your vin to a dodge dealer and ask him to print you out a build sheet. It'll list all the options specific to your truck and it should be free...or go to another dealership.
