current draw at underhood transmission fuse

Hello guru's

I have a 1999 SLT Laramie Quad Cab Cummins automatic.

It has a DTT transmission controller and a BD Diesel PressureLoc exhaust brake.

I have a continuous current draw at the underhood transmission fuse, which drains my batteries in about a week.

I am disconnecting the batteries at night now to keep them up untill I find the issue.

I have unplugged all the fuses and the alternator so far and have found this.

This transmission has had a major rebuild last August

I do not have the rebuild invoice from the previous owner, but the transmission shop freely discussed with me all the work that was done.

On a/one reciept from the transmission shop I found the following;

p1693; fault in companion module
p0217: reduced engine performance due to engine overheat
p0230: transfer pump circuit out of range
p1765:transmission relay circuit open or shorted
Body module harware fault
Performed warranty check, level good/works good
Trans relay has been bypassed for engine brake

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Cheers

Peter

What? No takers?

I put a relay connected to a switched source into the fuse line and all is well.

While we were doing this I noticed a transmission fluid leak. Turned out to be a finger tight test port plug. Dodged(no pun intended) a bullet on that one.

Cheers

I'm not familiar with how that DTT controller works or how the BD brake interacts with the transmission circuitry, but I'd look at the add on stuff first for a parasitic draw. Either of those shouldn't see constant power I'd think....how about swapping relays for the trans with something else then checking? Good luck.
