My cousin has a 98 24valve bone stock. When he sets his cruise, after a couple of minutes the speed starts climbing until he turns the cruise off. Anybody know whats causing it.

Cruise controller under the driver's side battery - also check vacuum for ~26" steady at idle

 

There was a programming defect in that years computer, the Dodge dealer has an update to flash the computer which is supposed to fix it.
I'm not sure what the number of the original program update that was supposed to fix that problem but the current download is supposed to incorporate all the others so it should be an easy fix. The time listed to do the flash was listed as .6 hours I think (going from memory)
