Surging or Pulse at Cruise

My truck seems to have a very slight buck or surge to it at a steady speed on flat ground at freeway speeds. If it were a gasser I would call it a high speed miss. You can demonstrate its exsitence by driving the truck up to speed and then going into neutral and the bucking sensation goes away.

I just had it into the dealer for the complaint as well as a diesel fuel smell from the engine. The CP3 was leaking and they have installed another one and reprogrammed to 18-005-06?. The service writer said I should wait and see if that was part of or all of my issue. Well the surge is still there and it does not throw any codes at all. Seems to run pretty good otherwise. Any ideas what to tell my friendly service writer to help find this or where to start on my own.

Thanks
WKSAZ

Alot of others have also posted this feeling while cruising. Once in a while, I will notice it. The funny thing is, once you notice it, you really pay attention to it and try to see if it is really happening, or is it your imagination. It is a weird feeling. Most of the time, I never notice it.
